The reported announcement
BSS reported on 30 July 2026 that recruitment of Bangladeshi workers was expected to restart for all sectors from the last week of August. It also reported that technical work, agency screening and process simplification were still being developed.
PSFM status interpretation
PSFM classifies this as Announced. The wording supports preparation and monitoring, not an unconditional claim that every employer or candidate can begin an active intake.
Employer implication
Employers can confirm their sector, quota position, job and contract terms, assessment method and welfare plan. They should retain official evidence before authorising candidate processing or public vacancy claims.
Candidate implication
Candidates should remain patient, use official channels, avoid brokers and verify the employer, role, location, salary, deductions, benefits and documents before taking action.
Next verification point
The status changes only when an implementing authority publishes an active route, effective date and actionable process. PSFM will update the permanent status chronology when that evidence appears.

Common recruitment questions
Is recruitment from Bangladesh to Malaysia operationally open now?
The bilateral reopening has been announced, but an official Bangladesh ministry update published on 28 August 2026 still described the market as set to reopen soon and told workers to wait for an official notice before paying money, undergoing medical examinations or submitting passports. PSFM therefore keeps the status Announced until an implementing authority publishes an active intake route, effective date and actionable process.
Which Malaysia sectors are covered by this cluster?
The Malaysian Immigration Department identifies manufacturing, construction, agriculture, plantation and services as approved foreign-worker sectors. Each employer requirement remains subject to the sector, quota, source-country, immigration, medical and other rules in force when the application is made.
Does a role example mean PSFM has a live vacancy or approved quota?
No. Role lists explain possible workforce categories only. A vacancy exists only when a verified Malaysian employer submits a current demand and the applicable authorities permit the route and process.
