Current label: Announced

Bangladesh government officials announced that recruitment was expected to resume and described an all-sectors opportunity. A Bangladesh ministry update published on 28 August 2026 still described the market as set to reopen soon and told workers to wait for an official notice before paying money, completing medical examinations or submitting passports. On 30 August 2026, PSFM therefore retained the Announced label because no implementing-authority notice reviewed by the editorial desk established a currently active intake route, effective date and actionable process.

What would change the label to Operationally Confirmed

PSFM requires a notice from a responsible implementing authority that provides an active effective date, eligible employer or agency route, sector or quota conditions and actionable application steps. General foreign-worker rules, political statements or news reports alone do not meet that threshold.

Evidence chronology

On 30 July 2026, BSS reported the adviser’s announcement of late-August recruitment across all sectors. On 4 August 2026, BSS reported the late-August reopening expectation. On 28 August 2026, BSS reported a ministry update saying the market was set to reopen soon and instructing workers to await an official notice before payments, medical examinations or passport submission. Malaysia’s Immigration Department continues to list the five foreign-worker sectors and general quota, VDR, entry visa, medical and VP(TE) framework, which does not by itself prove an active Bangladesh intake route.

Employer action while status is Announced

Malaysian employers can prepare a complete workforce brief, confirm their sector and quota position with the relevant authority, and organise interview criteria. They should not present the announcement as visa, quota or deployment approval.

Candidate safety action

Candidates should use official channels, verify employer identity and written terms, avoid unverified brokers and never treat registration or a social-media post as a job or visa offer. PSFM candidate registration records interest only.

Common recruitment questions

Is recruitment from Bangladesh to Malaysia operationally open now?

The bilateral reopening has been announced, but an official Bangladesh ministry update published on 28 August 2026 still described the market as set to reopen soon and told workers to wait for an official notice before paying money, undergoing medical examinations or submitting passports. PSFM therefore keeps the status Announced until an implementing authority publishes an active intake route, effective date and actionable process.

Which Malaysia sectors are covered by this cluster?

The Malaysian Immigration Department identifies manufacturing, construction, agriculture, plantation and services as approved foreign-worker sectors. Each employer requirement remains subject to the sector, quota, source-country, immigration, medical and other rules in force when the application is made.

Does a role example mean PSFM has a live vacancy or approved quota?

No. Role lists explain possible workforce categories only. A vacancy exists only when a verified Malaysian employer submits a current demand and the applicable authorities permit the route and process.

What should a Malaysian employer send first?

Send the company identity, work location, sector, job titles, headcount, experience requirements, salary range, working hours, benefits, accommodation, transport, insurance, contract duration, interview method and target dates. PSFM will review the brief before discussing sourcing.

Does PSFM guarantee quota, visa, arrival or deployment?

No. Quota, immigration permission, medical fitness, visa issuance, travel and deployment depend on employers, candidates and the relevant Malaysian and Bangladesh authorities. PSFM provides recruitment coordination and readiness support only for verified demand.
